MLK Celebration – January 16, 2016

Kwanzaa Event December 29 at 6:30pm – George Howard Building Lobby, Court House Drive

Mr. Allen Kittleman would like to invite you and your family to a Kwanzaa event being hold Thursday, December 29, 2016 at 6:30pm at the George Howard Building located at 3430 Court House Drive, Ellicott City, Maryland 21043.

Celebration of Achievement

The Council of Elders of the Black Community in partnership with the Howard County Public Schools Black Student Achievement Program will honor 3,920 total students at our 19th annual  Celebration of Achievement to acknowledge students of African and African American heritage who have excelled academically. All Celebrations begin promptly at 7:00pm, students are to arrive by 6:30pm. Please see the schedule below for the locations of each Celebration. #OneHoward

Celebrating Diversity Strengthening Community

Howard County Executive Allan H. Kittleman today announced #OneHoward, an initiative designed to promote community dialogue and reinforce the county’s shared goals of diversity and inclusiveness.

The goal of #OneHoward, a series of community conversations and educational events, is to advance the shared values of County residents while addressing concerns of racism, intolerance and bigotry that surfaced recently, particularly on social media, Kittleman said.
